Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – 2026–2027 School Year
Phaxis Education is seeking several dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teachers to join a school team for the 2026–2027 school year. Opportunities are available that range anywhere from Pre-K up to high school age and include self-contained, resource, co-teaching and LifeSkills openings.
We welcome experienced educators as well as new graduates who are passionate about supporting diverse learners in a collaborative school environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction in reading and math to students with diverse learning needs.
- Deliver evidence-based reading interventions and differentiated instruction to support student growth.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies based on data and individual needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Active Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement.
