Metro Property Services is a commercial roofing contractor serving commercial property managers, building owners, and facility managers in Northeast Florida for 35 years. We are actively seeking a Roofing Production Division Manager.
This position oversees the daily activities of the Roofing Production division: sales, production and staffing. They are responsible for strategic planning and review projects, as well as cultivating potential customers and growing the current customer base. The roofing supervisor will ensure timely professional and courteous response to customers and work with other onsite trades in the same manner. The ideal candidate understands commercial roofing practices, codes, and regulations.
Position Details:
- Estimate, compile bids and generate timely proposals from roof plans, specs, blueprints, field notes, drawings, and/or inspections to provide estimates; prepare submittal packages.
- Create production schedules; provide updates as needed; meet with on-site trades, inspectors, manufacturer reps, owners, as necessary; ensure quality and safety standards are met on each job.
- Oversee purchases and coordinate material and equipment deliveries; inspect work progress, equipment and jobsites to verify quality work is completed and meets industry standards; ensure projects are meeting time, labor and material budgets; ensure accurate job costing; monitor financial status of all projects; identify variances and implement corrective action as needed.
- Perform roof inspections and prepare written reports; identify preventative maintenance items and perform work as authorized.
- Inventory control and management; ensure company tools and equipment are secured daily; ensure company vehicles are maintained to standards;
- Promote communication and coordination between field and office staff; including reports and paperwork.
- Recruit and hire staff; make decisions regarding manpower to keep production flowing effectively; train and develop staff; ensure supervisors think ahead and plan their projects.
- Assign tasks, clarify responsibilities, and motivate others to work together as a team.
- Implement and enforce standards for productivity, quality, sales and customer service. Identify process improvements and resolve problems.
- Manage accounts and grow current customer base; respond to requests for proposals and follow up on leads for new projects; make cold calls; up-sell and cross-sell Company services.
- Follow company and OSHA safety guidelines, check safety conditions on job site.
- Inspect work of others and ensure company standards are met on every project.
- Complete paperwork either in writing or on phone/computer as required.
- Attend safety meetings and other training.
- Ensure proper care of tools, equipment, and vehicles
Qualifications/Requirements:
- English literacy
- Have a current valid driver's license, with less than 6 points, and able to be approved by our company auto insurance policy
- Have balance, stamina, strength and ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Familiar with building codes, uplift calculations, manufacturer's installation and repair requirements
- Ability to inspect structures and determine repair/replacement needs
- Have interpersonal skills, professional demeanor in customer and company encounters
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
