About Us
Gotham Manufacturing Corp is a licensed cannabis processor and distributor in New York, crafting high-quality, compliant, consumer-driven products. Quality here is a mentality, not a department — done right, nobody ever asks; done wrong, we lose our license. We're seeking a Quality Manager to own our quality system end to end. This role blends compliance ownership with hands-on floor presence, and it comes with something rare: a fully documented playbook — role charter, step-by-step procedures, and daily/weekly/monthly log sheets — so you'll know exactly what the job is from day one.
Position Overview
You will own product quality, Metrc track-and-trace integrity, facility GMP programs, and quality documentation for a 21 CFR Part 111-aligned, NY OCM-regulated manufacturing operation. You are the last gate before product leaves the building. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes personal ownership of compliance outcomes — including verifying work executed by others.
Core Responsibilities
Product Quality & Release
- Review and sign off Batch Production Records (BPRs) against Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs)
- Coordinate third-party lab testing; manage sample submissions and CoA review
- Make product release decisions; verify label compliance (NY OCM Part 128) including expiration dating on every run
- Perform in-process quality checks during production
Metrc & Track-and-Trace
- Own all Metrc product builds end to end — package creation, per-batch entries, RUID assignment — entered same-day, always
- Maintain mirrored builds in our ERP and run weekly Metrc-to-ERP reconciliation
- Own the cannabis waste and disposal program: compliant disposals recorded in Metrc with a maintained disposition log
Facility & GMP
- Verify sanitation logs, daily temperature/humidity logs, and cleanser/sanitizer program
- Run weekly internal pest inspections (alongside monthly vendor service) and weekly facilities checks
- Verify storage and identification — all products, components, and materials correctly labeled and located — and coach/retrain team members when GMP tasks are done incorrectly
- Manage uniform/rag program verification and calibration schedules
Documentation, Training & Regulatory
- Maintain SOPs, MMRs, deviation logs, and CAPA; keep everything audit-ready for unannounced OCM inspection
- Verify annual GMP training and role/SOP training records with HR
- Support OCM coordination and audit readiness; conduct monthly GMP walk-through audits
Materials & Sourcing
- Receiving inspection, supplier CoA reconciliation, and supplier quality files
- Support sourcing and vendor qualification alongside leadership, with occasional travel across New York State
Qualifications
- 3+ years in QA/QC or quality systems in cannabis, food/bev, pharma, or CPG
- Working knowledge of GMP (21 CFR Part 111 a strong plus), ISO, or HACCP
- Metrc experience strongly preferred; ERP proficiency required
- Experience with BPRs/MMRs and lab testing requirements (CoAs)
- Meticulous documentation habits — you believe "if it isn't documented, it didn't happen"
- Proven self-starter comfortable with accountability in a start-up environment
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Occasional travel throughout New York State
