POSITION SCOPE:
The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and strategic direction of the agency’s vehicles, equipment, and facility maintenance programs. This position provides leadership for both the Maintenance and Facilities divisions, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable transit operations. Key duties include developing preventive maintenance programs, managing staff and resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, vendor relations, and aligning departmental functions with agency-wide goals for customer service, safety, and sustainability.
JOB DUTIES:

· Manage and direct the activities of vehicle maintenance
· Possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License, with passenger endorsement and a valid Medical Examination Card.
· Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., FTA, DOT, OSHA, EPA).
· Create, update and monitor policies and procedures related to fleet maintenance and facility maintenance, including periodic inspections, documentation requirements, and contractor monitoring. Ensure and document compliance with established policies and procedures.
· Ensure that all agency facilities meet standards for safety, security, and accessibility.
· Monitor expenditures and recommend cost-effective solutions.
· Assist in long-range capital planning for fleet replacement schedules and facility improvements.
· Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across maintenance and facility teams.
· Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs.
· Function as the project manager for maintenance and facility projects approved in the budget.
· Prepare the Transit Asset Management Plan and develop reports on fleet condition, facility maintenance status, and overall department performance. This supports the National Transit Database facility condition assessment.
· Collaborate across departments to support reliability and organizational goals.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
