Lead Dental Hygienist
Help Build a Hygiene Department from the Ground Up
Battlefield Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced, motivated Lead Dental Hygienist who is excited by the opportunity to help build and shape a strong dental hygiene department within a developing practice. This is a full-time position based at Battlefield Family Dentistry in Chesapeake, VA.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hygienist who enjoys more than simply maintaining an established schedule. We are looking for someone who wants to play an active role in developing systems, establishing clinical standards, building patient relationships, and creating a positive, high-performing hygiene culture.
As our Lead Dental Hygienist, you will provide exceptional patient care while partnering with practice leadership to:
- Help develop efficient hygiene workflows, protocols, and scheduling standards
- Establish consistent clinical and periodontal care expectations
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of future hygiene team members
- Promote strong communication and collaboration between hygiene, doctors, and the business team
- Help grow patient retention, reappointment, treatment acceptance, and overall hygiene department performance
- Identify opportunities to improve the patient experience and strengthen practice operations
- Serve as a positive clinical leader and role model as the practice continues to grow
- Model and reinforce Cook Dental Group’s values of Family, Quality, Integrity, Compassion, Teamwork, and Fun within the hygiene department at Battlefield Family Dentistry
The right candidate will be comfortable working in a developing environment where flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving are valued. You should enjoy taking ownership, bringing ideas forward, and helping turn a developing department into a stable, successful, and rewarding place to work.
You May Be a Great Fit If You:
- Have strong clinical dental hygiene experience and a commitment to quality patient care
- Are confident educating patients and supporting comprehensive treatment
- Communicate clearly and work well across clinical and administrative teams
- Are dependable, organized, adaptable, and solutions oriented
- Have leadership experience or are ready to take the next step into a lead role
- Enjoy developing people, systems, and workflows to strengthen how a team operates
- Take initiative and enjoy turning ideas into action
- Lead confidently through change and growth
- Are energized by growth and excited to leave your mark on a developing practice
- Value being a respected clinical partner whose expertise shapes patient care, prevention, and long-term wellness
At Battlefield Family Dentistry, you will have the opportunity to influence the future of the hygiene department rather than simply step into someone else’s system. You will be supported by local practice leadership and the Cook Dental Group operations team as we build a department focused on clinical excellence, teamwork, accountability, and an exceptional patient experience.
