Job Overview
The Residential Aide/CNA plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to residents in various settings, including assisted living facilities. This position requires a dedicated individual who is skilled in delivering high-quality personal care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' quality of life.
- Monitor and document vital signs, medication administration, and changes in residents' health status.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents by maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Utilize medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assistive devices as required for resident mobility.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality regarding all patient information.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay current with best practices in caregiving and patient service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in long-term care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures, hospital medicine, acute care, or emergency medicine is advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring specialized care (e.g., Alzheimer's care, dementia care).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with diverse populations including seniors and children.
