Job Description
Are you an experienced auditor with expertise in grant programs? We're seeking a Senior Auditor/Financial Monitor to perform complex monitoring engagements and ensure compliance for workforce grant programs. This position will also assist the audit director in generalized internal auditing engagements from cradle to grave including risk assessments and writing reports.
Under the general supervision of the Audit Director, the Senior Auditor/Financial Monitor performs complex performance, operational, compliance and financial monitoring engagements of internal and external workforce grant programs, subrecipient agreements, grant awards, and special initiatives to ensure compliance and foster operational efficiencies. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for obtaining documentation, conducting monitoring and special examinations through on-site visits and desk reviews, documenting results, and communicating actions necessary to resolve identified issues/concerns in formal monitoring reports. The incumbent would provide guidance in interpreting and executing applicable regulations.
An ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret and analyze complex accounting and financial data, write audit program guides, conduct risk analysis, communicate effectively, and establish and maintain effective working relationships in the course of work.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Auditor/ Financial Monitor will:

Plan, conduct, and report on WIOA monitoring engagements, as well as other performance, operational, compliance, and financial internal examinations utilizing a risk-based approach.

Prepares workpapers including supporting documentation and cross references in accordance with Generally Accepted Governmental Audit Standards (GAGAS) and internal procedures. Workpapers should reflect results obtained from both test of controls and substantive test of transactions.

Write clear, well-formatted monitoring and examination reports with supporting findings, criteria, and recommendations, collaborating with SMEs as needed, in accordance with GAGAS.

Assists the Audit Director in establishing and/or updating the policies and procedures, the annual risk assessment, and the consolidated findings chart to ensure compliance with Professional Standards.

Performs related duties as required by the Audit Director.

Position requires overnight travel and driving routinely as part of the job. Work evenings and weekends. Other duties as required.

Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to accounting, auditing, financial management, and workforce programs.

Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree and professional experience in business, accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation and/or analysis.
A bachelor's degree in related field with three years of relevant experience.
C.P.A. (Certified Public Accountant), C.I.A. (Certified Internal Auditor), or C.F.E. (Certified Fraud Examiner) designation preferred but not required.
