We are currently expanding our network of U.S.-based Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support ongoing Federal projects for Swahili and Somali.
We have a high volume of work available and are looking for qualified interpreters who are willing to complete the required federal clearance process and commit to supporting these projects consistently.
What You’ll Do
- Provide accurate interpretation over the phone (OPI)
- Support communication for IRS and USCIS assignments
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy during every interaction
- Remain available and committed once approved for the projects
Requirements
- Fluency in English and Somali and/or Swahili
- Must currently reside in the United States
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)
- Must be willing and able to complete the required federal clearance process
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior interpreting experience preferred
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
- Reliable availability and a genuine commitment to supporting ongoing assignments
Technical Requirements
- Computer running Windows 10 or newer with at least 8 GB of RAM
- High-speed, private internet connection with a minimum speed of 20 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload
- USB wired headset with a built-in microphone; Bluetooth and wireless headsets are not accepted
- Quiet and private workspace
