Overview
The Logistics Advisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing logistics operations to support regional supply chain activities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of logistics services aligned with operational priorities, company standards, and stakeholder requirements. The Logistics Advisor serves as a key interface between operations, maintenance, procurement, and external partners, driving continuous improvement and best practices across logistics functions.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Planning & Coordination
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve logistics strategies to support regional supply chain and operational activities.
- Ensure logistics and support services are effectively planned, resourced, and compliant with company standards.
- Monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Serve as the primary logistics focal point for major activities such as drilling, maintenance operations, decommissioning, and contingency events.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations & Maintenance, Procurement, and contractors) to integrate logistics planning into broader business plans.
- Prepare and deliver routine and ad hoc reports, including KPIs, metrics, and performance insights.
- Support day-to-day logistics execution as needed.
- Ensure logistics work management processes align with company standards and best practices, documenting and addressing any deviations.
- Partner with Procurement to develop contracting strategies, negotiate agreements, and identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
Execution & Operations Support
- Guide and support logistics activities to meet production, project, and operational priorities while achieving safety, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Coordinate logistics support for specific projects and contingency operations.
- Participate in planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, contractor reviews, and operational discussions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, vendors, and third-party service providers.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to all applicable company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain close coordination with stakeholders to address logistics needs, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Work alongside Procurement to ensure sound commercial management and compliance in logistics-related contracts.
Best Practices & Continuous Improvement
- Promote and implement supply chain best practices across businesses.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by integrating logistics with functions such as Operations, Wells and Procurement.
- Identify performance gaps and lead initiatives to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Apply benchmarking and market analysis to ensure cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Develop and manage logistics budgets, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining safety and service levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Several years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations within a complex or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of logistics planning, execution, and performance management.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external contractors.
