Velocity Clearing began in 2003, providing third-party security locate services. We saw the challenge clients experienced when dealing with multiple companies to reach their goals. We sought to build a streamlined system that integrated all aspects of their trading experience into one full-service firm.
Velocity has since created a robust trading product and service ecosystem including stock locate, securities borrow coverage, clearing infrastructure, competitive financing, in-house trading desk, and full support client services.
SUMMARY:
We are looking for a professional to lead the processing, reconciliation, and communication for complex investor choices (like tender offers, exchanges, rights issues) within financial institutions. This role requires deep market knowledge, risk control, stakeholder coordination (clients, tax, tech), staff guidance, and process improvement to ensure accurate, timely handling of events and optimal client service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Event Management: Process and reconcile complex voluntary corporate actions (e.g., tender offers, mergers, exchange offers).
· Client Support: Act as an SME, interpreting data, resolving complex client inquiries, and providing guidance on event life cycles.
· Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with internal teams (Tax, Tech, Middle/Front Office) and external parties (custodians, agents).
· Risk & Compliance: Identify, manage, and escalate risks, ensuring adherence to procedures and regulations.
· Process Improvement: Drive automation, simplify workflows, enhance documentation, and contribute to system enhancements.
· Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to less experienced analysts.
Role Focus
· Strategic: Designing scalable processes, driving change, and ensuring high service standards.
· Operational: Accurate processing, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
· Leadership: Mentoring junior staff and managing risk effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS or PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 7+ years’ experience in a similar role.
· Licensing: Series 99
· Strong understanding of voluntary corporate actions and market practices.
· Experience with financial systems (e.g., SWIFT messages like MT56X).
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple systems, projects, and high-pressure situations.
· Background in Settlements, Risk Management, Custody, or Financial Markets.
SCHEDULE:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00am- 5:00pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
