Duties
- Engage with clients to assess their financial needs and recommend suitable investment, insurance, and mortgage products
- Assist clients throughout the loan origination process, including application submission, documentation review, and closing procedures
- Conduct credit analysis and evaluate financial data using industry-standard software such as Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and accounting tools
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including TILA (Truth in Lending Act), Fair Housing laws, FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines, and banking regulations
- Negotiate terms with clients and lenders to secure favorable loan conditions while maintaining adherence to industry standards
- Build strong relationships through exceptional customer service, clear communication, and ongoing support for mortgage servicing and financial planning needs
- Stay updated on industry trends, mortgage lending practices, and regulatory changes to provide accurate advice and maintain compliance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree in finance, business or related field preferred
- Demonstrated interest or experience in sales, banking, or financial services is a plus
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Proficiency with financial software such as Quicken or similar tools for budgeting and client management
- Basic math skills including calculations related to credit analysis, loan processing, and escrow accounts
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, underwriting procedures, and loan processing systems (LOS)
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations, TILA compliance standards, FNMA guidelines, and banking regulatory requirements
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on relationship building within financial sales environments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
