Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Piecework Painter with perhaps a helper or two. This is piecework with a PO amount. There are no set hours nor is this full time work, however can lead into more. This role offers an opportunity for skilled painters to contribute to high-quality production finishes across various projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying coatings, preparing surfaces, and ensuring all work meets strict quality standards. This position emphasizes safety, precision, and efficiency, making it perfect for individuals eager to excel in industrial painting and coating processes. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting through sanding, cleaning, and surface treatment in construction and manufacturing settings
- Operate spray guns, including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying techniques, to apply coatings accurately and efficiently
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to assist in surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Interpret production documents such as work orders, blueprints, and coating specifications to ensure proper application procedures
- Handle materials safely using proper materials handling techniques while adhering to PPE protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure proper storage of paints, coatings, and related supplies
- Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect finished surfaces to meet quality standards in industrial painting
Qualifications
- Experience with powder coating, industrial painting, construction painting surface preparation is highly desirable
- Knowledge of coating materials a plus
- Familiarity with the use of coating spray guns, respirators, respirator fit testing, and respiratory protection equipment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and production documents accurately
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thickness and surface dimensions
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and other manufacturing machinery
- Commitment to safety protocol adherence including PPE use such as respirators and protective clothing
- Mechanical knowledge combined with precision measuring instrument skills enhances performance in this role
Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour
