Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Lab Technician to support our coating and printing operations within a fast-paced paper converting environment. This position plays an important role in ensuring product quality, consistency, and process performance through testing, inspection, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on paper, coatings, inks, and finished products
- Conduct quality checks throughout production runs
- Record, analyze, and communicate test results accurately
- Assist with color matching, coating evaluations, and print quality verification
- Maintain lab equipment, calibration records, and testing supplies
- Support production and quality teams with troubleshooting and process improvements
- Prepare labels & ship product samples
- Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize sustainable coating formulations for paper packaging
- Ensure all products comply with SQF and GMP food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in laboratory operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of laboratory, quality, manufacturing, coating, or printing experience required
- Intermediate computer skills required, including data entry, Microsoft Office, and production-related systems
- Strong knowledge of sustainable coatings and food safety regulations related to packaging
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are a plus
