Responsibilities of a Group Home Supervisor:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Group Home Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and safeguarding the well-being of consumers in the group home setting. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating activities, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for individuals with unique needs. The Group Home Supervisor works closely with consumers, their families, and support agencies to promote independence, personal growth, and a high quality of life.

Hybrid schedules or working from home are not available options. The employee’s physical presence in the home is a crucial service we provide to our consumers.
Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position.

Applicants must be available to work afternoon shifts of 4pm-12am.
Essential Duties:
1. Leadership and Supervision:
-
Provide leadership and guidance to a team of direct support professionals.

Supervise and train staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support services.

Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations.

Perform Direct Care duties.
2. Consumer Care and Support:

Assess the needs of consumers and develop individualized care plans.

Oversight of consumer medical needs and medication compliance.

Coordinate and implement programs that promote consumers' physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Monitor and document consumers' progress and address any challenges promptly in the consumer's electronic health record.
3. Safety and Compliance:

Check compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

Maintain a safe and clean environment, addressing any potential hazards.

Oversee emergency preparedness and response procedures.
4. Communication and Collaboration:

Establish effective communication channels with consumers, their families, and external service providers.

Collaborate with case managers, healthcare professionals, and social workers to address consumers' needs.

Act as a liaison between the group home and relevant community resources.
5. Budget Management:

Assist management with financial resources at the program level.

Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
6. Training and Development:

Facilitate training sessions for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Stay informed about best practices, industry trends, and relevant regulations.
7. Conflict Resolution:

Address conflicts or issues among consumers and/or staff in a fair and effective manner.

Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the group home.
Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (social work, psychology, human services) or equivalent experience preferred.

Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a group home setting.

Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards.

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Compassion and understanding for individuals with diverse needs.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Experience with electronically recorded health and employment documents.
