Position Description
As a Material Handler, you are a key part of the remanufacturing team, responsible for keeping production moving. You support all workstations by safely and efficiently moving machines, maintaining parts availability, and ensuring work areas stay organized and ready for production. Your role is critical in helping technicians stay productive and ensuring machines flow smoothly from intake through remanufacturing to final packaging.
Key Responsibilities
Material Movement & Workflow Support
- Safely move washers and dryers between workstations, staging areas, and storage locations throughout the remanufacturing process.
- Maintain consistent workflow by ensuring machines are in the right place at the right time.
- Assist in staging equipment for incoming, in-process, and completed units.
Parts & Inventory Support
- Maintain part kits and stock levels at each workstation to ensure technicians have what they need to stay productive.
- Organize and manage bulk and shelved parts, ensuring accurate placement and easy access.
- Support parts harvesting efforts by sorting, organizing, and storing reusable components.
- Receive and process incoming parts shipments
- Communicate low stock levels or shortages to prevent production delays
- Perform regular inventory counts as directed
- Perform inventory transfers as directed
- Prepare and package orders for shipment as directed
Warehouse & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace using 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Ensure tools, parts, and materials are properly stored and easily accessible.
- Keep aisles, staging areas, and work zones clear to support safe and efficient operations.
- Participate in ongoing efforts to improve workstation layout and organization.
Workstation & Production Support
- Assist with cleaning machines prior to entering the remanufacturing process.
- Support technicians by preparing machines and work areas for the next stage of production.
- Assist with packaging, wrapping, and staging washers and dryers for shipment and installation.
- Ensure finished units are protected, properly labeled, and ready for transport.

Safety Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely (certification required where applicable).
- Maintain awareness of surroundings, equipment movement, and potential hazards in the facility.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses.
- Follow building safety standards, including designated walkways, staging areas, and restricted access zones.
Tools & Equipment Care
- Use tools and equipment properly and safely.
- Maintain tools in good working condition and report any damage or issues.
- Ensure shared equipment is returned and available for team use.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or 1-2 years related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, schematics, installation guidelines and specifications.
- Computer, smart phone, and tablet skills.
Special Requirements, Licenses, or Certificates
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a clean driving record with no major violations.
- Forklift Certification required.
Physical Requirements
- Specific physical demands may vary based on assigned geography or equipment.
- Ability to maneuver machines weighing up to 450 lbs. with proper equipment.
- Ability to maneuver in restrictive areas; often squatting, kneeling, crawling, and reaching overhead, while lifting, holding, and maneuvering tools or service parts.
- Ability to maneuver a washer or dryer while properly secured to a hand truck.

- A typical workweek consists of 40 hours, Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm.
