GENERAL DESCRIPTION: CDL - This individual will be responsible for the safe and timely driving of a semi-truck in compliance with all DOT and company regulations. This includes hauling frozen goods and supplies between plants and to outside storage as required, meeting production requirements.
Lift Truck Driver - the Lift Truck Driver's chief responsibility is the safe, prompt, and efficient transportation of product and materials from one point in the plant to another and to load and unload trucks. Care of the lift truck and materials hauled is absolutely necessary. Employee is accountable for correct records of product received into cold storage and of product shipped out of the plant.
MANUAL: Must be physically able to perform all related jobs in the work area.
STARTING PAY: Between $26.01 to $30.90 per hour.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Conduct pre-trip inspection prior to hauling off Company Property. Follow inspection procedures.
2. Conducts pre-shift operations check on lift truck in accordance with Company Policy.
3. Monitors proper fuel, battery, and fluid levels in lift trucks.
4. Must be able to haul product to and from the cold storage warehouse promptly and efficiently without damage to product, equipment, plant structures or personnel.
5. Must be able to read and follow the warehouse daily written instructions.
6. Must be able to put on or remove stacking aides as needed. Also must be physically able to stack or restack cased goods when necessary.
7. Must be able to high stack. High stacking is defined as the ability to stack totes over 4 high.
8. Will be required to rotate through all of the positions in the warehouse throughout the year.
9. Must be able to slip sheet totes or finished case goods.
10. Must be able to load or unload highway trucks and railroad cars, keeping accurate records on all product shipped or received.
11. Must be able to tie and throw standards in a safe and efficient manner.
12. Must have, or be able to acquire basic Warehouse computer skills including but not limited to ticket scanning, inventory tracking, and creation of new tickets. Must be able to accurately maintain written records of the same.
13. Must be able to set correct product to be used in packaging, or puree, into the product dumps.
14. Must be able to work in environments of -0 degrees or below.
15. May be required to perform limited supervisory duties.
16. Must be able to work any shift.
17. Work cooperatively with shift supervisors and fellow employees.
18. Practice good housekeeping at all times.
19. Report all safety hazards to their supervisor.
20. Must obey all safety, health, sanitation, and plant rules and procedures.
21. Perform other duties as directed.
POSITION PRE-REQUISITES:
1. Must have current Class A CDL with air brake endorsement and medical certification.
2. Must pass DOT drug test and be subject to random UA testing according to the DOT regulations.
3. Must have the ability to obtain Company unlimited Forklift license through written and formal driving tests.
4. Must be 18 years of age or older.
5. Must have a safe vehicle driving record. Citations for reckless and/or driving under the influence will disqualify eligibility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.Strength – Lift 70 lbs. Maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 55 lbs.
2. Stand/ Walk / Sit – Stand, walk, and or sit a maximum of 3 hours prior to each break period.
3. Climb / Balance – Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and the like using feet and legs and or hand and arms. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.
4. Stoop -- Bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
5. Kneel – Bend the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees.
6. Crouch – Bend the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.
7. Crawl – Move about on the hands and knees or hands and feet.
8. Reach – Extend both hands and arms in any direction.
9. Handle – Seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with the hand or hands.
10. See – Obtain impressions through the eyes of the shape, size, distance, motion, color, or other characteristics of objects.
11. Twist/Turn – Able to turn/twist trunk of body from side to side.
12. Talk – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
