Maintenance Worker II
Maintenance Worker - Full time with benefits
Campbell County is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker II to join our team. The shift is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. This position offers full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance along with Virginia State's Retirement Plan (VRS). Campbell County has a generous Vacation and Leave Plan including Holidays, Personal Days, Floating Holidays and Community Service Leave to use.
Position will be open till filled.

Performs with excellence, the following tasks, including but not limited to:
- Performs or assists with routine maintenance of buildings and grounds such as: painting, minor electrical, plumbing, repairing windows, hanging doors, replacing locks, repairing and/or replacing sidewalks, patching and repairing roofs, carpentry, cabinetry, etc.;

Moves equipment, supplies, and furniture as requested;

Cuts grass, weed eats, prunes bushes, and rakes leaves, as required;

Provide support for County events;

Shovels and pushes snow and applies chemicals to walkways as necessary;

Replace light bulbs and light fixtures as necessary;

Performs other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent
-
One year of related experience
-
Valid Virginia Driver’s License and insurable under County’s Policy.

Requires completion of National Incident Management System IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment.
Core Skill Sets:
-
Knowledge of basic safety as it relates to maintenance;

Ability to safely operate grass cutting equipment;

Basic working knowledge of hand and power tools;
-
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time;

Basic understanding and ability to utilize the county’s adopted software platform.
In addition to the standard maintenance duties listed above, a Maintenance Worker II has the following requirements:
Responsibilities:
-
Perform monthly preventative maintenance schedules.
-
Plan and manage small building related projects.
Qualifications:
-
One additional year of experience for a total of 2;
-
Desired: one year of supervisory experience.
