Industrial Test Systems, Inc. (ITS) is seeking a skilled and motivated R&D Chemist to join our team in Rock Hill, SC. What You’ll Do
- Prepare reagents, analytical standards, and test solutions with precision and accuracy.
- Conduct QC testing to support production, following established protocols with minimal supervision.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as balances, pH meters, titrators, colorimeters, and micropipettes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in laboratory processes.
- Perform R&D experiments under the guidance of senior scientists, contributing to product development and process improvements.
- Carry out Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations as required.
- Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and maintain accurate records in ERP systems using iPads.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to meet manufacturing schedules and ensure timely product releases.
- Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards, following cGMP, ISO 17025, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory workspace.
- Contribute to document updates, reviews, and controlled documentation management to ensure process accuracy and compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in a manufacturing or QC setting.
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality Management Systems.
- Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques and analytical testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with maintaining formal laboratory notebooks and documentation practices; familiarity with ASTM standards and cGMP is a plus.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of water chemistry and analytical testing methodologies is desirable.
