Job Description
Physical Therapy Technician / Rehab Aide — Naperville, IL
A growing integrated healthcare practice is hiring a Physical Therapy Technician (Rehab Aide). If you like working hands-on with patients all day, moving instead of sitting at a desk, and being the person patients look forward to seeing — this is a great fit.
This is a patient-first role. You'll spend the majority of your day on the floor guiding patients through their rehab and therapy plans alongside our providers. When the schedule is light, you'll support the front desk so the clinic runs smoothly end to end.
No prior clinical experience required — we train. What matters is that you're dependable, coachable, and genuinely good with people.
What You'll Do (Primary — Physical Therapy Tech)
- Set up and guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and rehab protocols
- Apply therapy modalities as directed by the provider
- Prepare treatment areas, and keep equipment clean, stocked, and sanitized
- Demonstrate and coach proper exercise form; monitor patients during their sessions
- Document treatment notes accurately in the EMR
- Keep the treatment floor flowing on time and on schedule
- Communicate patient progress and concerns to the clinical team
What You'll Do (Secondary — Front Desk Support During Down Time)
- Greet and check in patients; verify appointment and visit information
- Answer phones, schedule and confirm appointments, manage cancellations
- Collect co-pays and patient balances
- Assist with new patient paperwork and intake
- Support day-to-day office tasks and keep the reception area organized
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic
- Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-facing attitude
- Comfortable being on your feet and assisting patients with movement
- Basic computer skills (EMR experience a plus, not required)
- Willingness to cross-train on front office systems
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience as a PT aide, rehab tech, chiropractic assistant, medical assistant, physical therapy technician, or athletic trainer
- Kinesiology, exercise science, athletic training, or pre-PT background
- Front desk or medical receptionist experience
- CPR/BLS certification
- Bilingual (Spanish)
Why You'll Like It Here
- Paid, hands-on training — we'll teach you the clinical side
- Real career path: many of our techs grow into lead tech, office management, or use this as pre-PT/pre-Chiro clinical hours
- Supportive team environment with a clinic director who invests in developing people
- Clear expectations, structured onboarding, and no guesswork
