Responsibilities
- Read and interpret CAD drawings/ 2D drawings, engineering drawings, and shop work orders.
- Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines, surface grinders, lathes, and other precision machine tools.
- Build, repair, modify, and maintain molds, tooling, fixtures, and precision components.
- Machine parts to close tolerances while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend process improvements.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Machinist, Mold Maker, Tool Maker, or in a similar precision manufacturing role.
- Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, and precision measurement.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience working to close tolerances with a strong attention to detail.
- Mold-making experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with SolidWorks, Mastercam or UG (Siemens NX) software is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational, technical, or apprenticeship training in machining or toolmaking is a plus.
