Job Summary
Groundskeeper, under the supervision of the Grounds & Landscaping Manager, performs routine manual labor. This involves landscape maintenance, semi-skilled ground construction and maintenance work, operation of small hand-powered equipment. Each groundskeeper may be assigned responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated areas on the property
Must be at least 19 years old.
Duties
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Perform routine grounds maintenance and landscape upkeep throughout assigned areas of the property
- Remove debris and maintain clean grounds using backpack blowers and other landscaping tools
- Implement proper landscape installation and horticultural practices
- Trim and prune trees, shrubs, grasses, and perennials to promote plant health and maintain property appearance
- Remove dead trees, limbs, and organic debris from landscaped areas
- Perform weed control and vegetation management under the supervision of the Manager or Supervisor
- Apply fertilizers to plants, shrubs, and turf areas as directed
- Spray approved landscape chemicals and treatments under the supervision of the Manager or Supervisor
- Safely operate mowers and other hand-powered landscaping equipment
- Report any equipment malfunctions, mechanical issues, or operational concerns to the Supervisor
- Maintain landscaping equipment through basic repairs and preventative maintenance
- Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and securely stored after use
- Identify and report potential safety hazards or property concerns within the community
- Follow all company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards
- Assist other departments as directed by the Supervisor or Manager
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall property maintenance and operations
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSSpecial requirement
- Must possess a clean MVR and Valid driver’s license to drive throughout the property
Physical requirements and environment
- Extensive physical activity, which requires strenuous physical work, large amounts of walking, and heavy lifting
- Work involves exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and fumes
- Exposure to high, constant noise levels
Must be authorized to work in the US.
Must be able to pass a drug screen test.
Must be able to pass a background check.
