Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join our Children’s After School Program in Coffee County. This position operates within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, providing person-centered support, supervision, and skill-building services for children and adolescents with mental health diagnoses. In this role, you will help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment while assisting with transportation and daily program activities that promote emotional wellness and behavioral stability.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with children, adolescents, and families

Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required

Must successfully pass a background check
Responsibilities:
-
Provide daily supervision, support, and skill-building assistance for children and adolescents participating in the After School Program

Assist with transportation for consumers to and from program activities, appointments, and related services as needed

Help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that supports behavioral health and emotional wellness

Support children and adolescents with daily routines, social skills, and positive behavioral expectations

Collaborate with therapists, program staff, families, and community partners to ensure coordinated care within the CCBHC care model

Monitor participant behavior and report concerns to supervisory or clinical staff as needed

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate documentation in compliance with agency standards and CCBHC requirements

Promote positive engagement, recovery, and person-centered support for children and families
ALL candidates must be able to type and have basic computer skills, possess a valid driver’s license, eligibility for coverage under center liability insurance and individually held vehicle liability insurance with a clear background check.
