GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This job requires the GM to direct the work of all other store employees to create and maintain a profitable store environment that fulfills the MAD Concepts Group – Our Cause. The essence of this promise is to guarantee that every guest may walk into a Jakes to be promptly welcomed and experience the best Jakes has to offer from our team, who simultaneously deliver hot, tasty food and ice-cold beverages. The GM must also manage costs, initiate local store marketing and recruiting efforts, and ensure that proper policies are followed, including employment and incident documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of a MAD Concepts Group GM include, but are not limited to:
1.) Effectively teach, motivate, coach, and discipline all staff, including assistant managers, key managers, the kitchen crew, and FOH team. Must garner the respect of all employees.
2.) Proactively recruit team members constantly, keeping employment listings active and up to date.
3.) Ensure that 8 Steps of Service are followed at all times and motivate front of house staff to engage and provide great service to every table.
4.) Hold kitchen staff accountable to produce great food and uphold sanitation standards.
5.) Responsibly handle cash, including but not limited to assigning drawers, computing employee checkouts, computing and delivering tip share, and delivering bank deposits within required time. Responsibly handle Credit Card transactions including but not limited to verifying and initialing applied tips, obtaining copies of identification and credit card for all manually entered credit card transactions. Responsibly handle Petty Cash- responsible for cash variances.
6.) Be proficient with interviewing, hiring, warning, counseling, terminating all employees and ensure that all such events are properly documented.
7.) Respectfully and properly handle all issues of alleged discrimination or harassment in accordance with company policy, and contact the Home Office if necessary.
8.) Maintain a fun, playful atmosphere free of intimidation, discrimination, harassment, poor attitude, and poor work performance.
9.) Drive sales by working with managers and team members to execute excellent operations, local store marketing efforts, and social media marketing efforts.
10.) Train and develop the store’s assistant managers and hourly staff, providing and documenting regular coaching and evaluations. GM’s must conduct monthly development 1-1’s with each of their managers and annual reviews. Those 1-1’s and annual reviews are to be documented and sent to the DM’s for their files.
11.) Maintain organized and updated training schedules, programs and materials for new employees.
12.) Effectively execute food, drink, event, contest, and merchandise promotions. 13.) Practice sound inventory control and adhere to all recipes, specs and expiration dates of food and beverage.
14.) Dress and act professionally each day to set a good example for all employees. Absolutely no fraternizing with hourly team members or other managers unless it is a company sponsored event/activity. No dating or engaging in relationships with hourly employees or any of your managers.
15.) Be willing and able at any time to correct standards that are not met in any area of Jakes.
16.) Uphold standards of cleanliness per Health Code and periodic Quality Assurance checks.
17.) Ensure that alcohol is always served responsibly and in accordance with the law. 100% of servers, bartenders and managers TABC certified at all times. MAD Concept Group employees, both hourly and salaried, may not consume alcohol in any of the MAD Concept Group locations at any time, on or off the clock.
18.) Be faithfully dedicated to making Jakes the best restaurant of its class in the country.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have substantial experience managing high-volume restaurants and/or bars.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate in the English language. Spanish communication
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out multi-step instructions. Ability to deal with quickly changing situations with many variables. Ability to mathematically compute proper change, accurately perform checkouts for employees, and compute correct bank deposits. Skills are extremely helpful.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must attend Orientation and agree to policies and procedures as outlined in Jakes Manager Training. Must attend and successfully complete the MAD Concepts Group Manager training program prior to working a shift without supervision. Must successfully attend and complete any and all other required training in compliance with local and state regulations, such as food and/or alcohol service certifications.

The Manager must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
