Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Plasma Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC plasma cutting machines to produce precise metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output while adhering to safety standards and production schedules. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment dedicated to excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC plasma cutting machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce accurate cuts on various metals.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and work orders to ensure precise fabrication.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC plasma equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify dimensions and quality of finished parts.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and materials handling equipment; assist with loading/unloading raw materials and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to meet strict specifications, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturing protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving welding, assembly, tooling, and finishing processes to meet production deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC plasma cutting machines in a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar control systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar for creating or modifying designs.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of fabrication tools including press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and welding equipment.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAM programming, and tooling setup is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality assurance purposes.
- Valid forklift certification for safe materials handling within the factory environment.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting during machining processes.
- Factory experience in a manufacturing facility focused on machining or fabrication is preferred.
- Strong safety awareness with adherence to all safety protocols related to machining operations and materials handling.
