Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route management, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or other equipment as necessary, including handling hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with safety standards.
- Drive various types of trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialty vehicles based on delivery requirements.
- Use GPS navigation systems and route planning tools to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals at multiple destinations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, inspection reports, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before operating.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or unforeseen delays.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and oversized loads.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving.
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Experience operating specialized trucks such as flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GPS navigation tools and route optimization strategies.
- Excellent driving skills coupled with a focus on safety and compliance at all times.
