Where You Will Work:
Join our 44-bed Ortho Trauma Unit at Advocate Condell Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center. Here, you’ll find a collaborative, supportive, and highly engaged team committed to delivering compassionate, safe, and exceptional care. Our nursing team spans from enthusiastic new graduates to seasoned professionals with over 40 years in practice—alongside dedicated nursing assistants who bring diverse skills and perspectives.
What You Will Do
- Provides operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient unit operations and compliance with organizational, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Delivers clinical oversight and support to nursing staff, promoting evidence-based practice, sound clinical decision-making, and excellent patient outcomes.
- Coaches, mentors, and develops teammates through education and professional growth opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Promotes collaboration and effective communication across the care team to coordinate patient care, share critical updates, and strengthen teamwork.
- Supports quality improvement, innovation, and operational excellence by identifying opportunities for enhancement and evaluating outcomes.
- Oversees staffing, equipment, and supply resources while coordinating emergency response efforts to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Advocates for patients and families by promoting individualized, age-appropriate, and ethical care that respects patient rights, preferences, and values.
What We Are Looking For
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices, and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 5 years of nursing experience.
- Charge nurse experience preferred.
