Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Worker (IRTS) to join our team for the Graveyard Shift. This role involves providing specialized support and care to individuals with various mental health needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, PTSD, and substance use disorders. Duties
- Monitor and support clients during overnight shifts, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Assist with behavioral management strategies tailored to individual needs
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Conduct intake assessments and document behavioral health data accurately in medical records
- Perform vital signs checks and observe clients for signs of distress or crisis situations
- Implement crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
- Support clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and basic patient care
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of all medical records and client information
- Collect data related to behavior patterns, progress, and treatment outcomes for ongoing assessment
Skills
- Experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, PTSD, or addiction counseling is highly desirable
- Strong crisis intervention and crisis management skills to handle emergency situations effectively
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation procedures
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and families
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality protocols in healthcare settings
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to supporting behavioral health and patient-centered care
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy during night shifts
