Job Purpose/Objective:
The Dispatch Router is responsible for coordinating, planning, and overseeing nighttime and early morning Delivery Truck Driver routing.
Schedule: 6am-3pm
Essential Job Functions:
- Create and build routes using Roadnet and MobileCast Programs
- Work with the Transportation Department, Shipping Department, and Sales Department and interdepartmentally to manage supply chain logistics, including routing and truck utilization strategies to create greater efficiency.
- Handle internal challenges and elevated external client complaints and strive to find proactive ways to reduce them
- Distribute the dispatch routing and all related information to the designated department representative in an accurate and timely manner
- Anticipates and determines causes of delays in deliveries and takes appropriate action to meet shipping schedules.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma, equivalency degree, or related experience
- 3 years management / supervisory experience
- 3 years using RoadNet and Mobile cast software programs
- Prior experience working in a wholesale produce distribution and / or routing environment
- Experience in fleet dispatching and routing internal fleet
- Proficient in computer use with emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license: dispatch, routing and/or driving experience is a strong plus
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of fleet management and operations procedures
- Able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment
