Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCA) and Homemakers (HMK) to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including private homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes. The ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence. Bloomington-Sunday-Thursdays 8pm-11pm
PCA Minnespolis-Wednesdays and Fridays 9am-4pm
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support, including the safe operation of Hoyer lifts.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement.
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
- Monitor clients’ health status by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans established by healthcare providers.
- Assist with patient observation for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory care needs.
- Follow established safety protocols during patient care activities and ensure compliance with all health regulations.
Skills
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or mobility assistance.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions and recognizing signs of distress or deterioration.
- Competence in meal preparation, medication management, and implementing individualized care plans.
