Position Summary
The Director of Early Childhood Education provides strategic and operational leadership for Kids Can’s early childhood program. This role is responsible for the leadership, development, and performance of all early childhood staff, classrooms, and program operations at our current site, which includes six classrooms and approximately 24 team members.
The Director is accountable for program quality, staff development, family engagement, regulatory compliance, and data-informed improvement efforts that drive measurable outcomes for children and families.
Kids Can will be opening an additional early childhood site within the next year. While this role is primarily focused on the current program, the Director will play a key leadership role in strengthening systems and capacity in preparation for growth, with potential opportunities to support expanded leadership responsibilities as new sites open.
What You’ll Lead
- A six-classroom early childhood program with approximately 24 staff members
- High-quality learning environments that promote school readiness and child development
- Staff recruitment, coaching, performance management, and leadership development
- Family engagement strategies that build trust and strengthen outcomes
- Program quality, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Data-informed decision-making to improve program effectiveness
- Strategic improvements that strengthen and support future program expansion
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in early childhood education
- Demonstrated success supervising, coaching, and developing teams
- Strong knowledge of state licensing requirements and early childhood best practices
- Experience using data to improve program quality and outcomes
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for early childhood education, staff development, and family engagement
Leadership Environment
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with organizational leadership to ensure alignment with Kids Can’s mission, quality standards, and long-term strategic goals.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
