Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide essential legal and administrative support in a high-volume property tax law firm. This is a hybrid position based in Chicago. The ideal candidate will be organized, able to manage multiple priorities efficiently, and maintain a professional demeanor. This role focuses on document preparation, data entry and management, and client communication.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the client intake process, including preparing and processing engagement documents.
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and preparing legal documents and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and organized client records, case files, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to firm procedures.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support case management and client service.
- Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two years of office experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and external parties.
- Some legal experience is helpful but not required, as training will be provided.
