Job Summary
We are a Christian school with a Korean Immersion Program and are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our educational team in 5 year old class. We are looking for full time and/or part time.
The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development before going into Kindergarten. The Preschool Teacher will implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate various learning styles and developmental milestones while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere. The candidate is expected to communicate in both English and Korean with the co-teachers, students, and school parents.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and creativity.
- Teach fundamental concepts in subjects such as math, language arts, science, and physical education.
- Utilize Montessori methods to promote independent learning and critical thinking skills.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and development.
- Assess student performance through standardized testing and observational methods.
- Collaborate with special education staff to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
Experience
- English required, Korean strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the Bible and ability to incorporate Christianity in teaching.
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is not required but preferred.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting is essential.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and best practices in early education.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience with behavior management strategies to create a harmonious classroom environment in shaping structures in the classroom.
- knowledge of VDOE regulations and requirements preferred
