Position Summary
The Field Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational
performance of assigned field operations. This position exercises independent judgment
and discretion in directing personnel, managing client relationships, resolving operational
issues, and ensuring company policies and contractual obligations are consistently met.
The Field Manager directly supervises Managers on Duty (MODs), Field Trainers, and
security guards assigned within their area of responsibility. This position is accountable for
workforce planning, employee performance, operational compliance, quality assurance,
client satisfaction, and the development of future leaders within the organization.
The Field Manager serves as a member of the management team and is expected to make
independent decisions regarding staffing, employee discipline, scheduling priorities,
operational improvements, and resource allocation while supporting the strategic goals
established by executive leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Personnel Management
- Directly supervises assigned Field Trainers, and security guards.
- Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and professional development to personnel in the field.
- Conducts performance evaluations and provides ongoing coaching and corrective action when necessary.
- Participates in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, promotions, disciplinary actions, and termination recommendations.
- Holds field trainers and security guards accountable for company policies, attendance, professionalism, and client expectations.
- Develops succession plans by identifying and mentoring future leaders.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily field operations to ensure contractual obligations are consistently met.
- Directs workforce planning and scheduling to maintain adequate staffing levels while maximizing operational efficiency.
- Reviews staffing forecasts and reallocates personnel based on business demands.
- Monitors labor utilization and overtime trends while implementing strategies to improve workforce efficiency.
- Evaluates operational performance and recommends process improvements.
- Exercises independent judgment when resolving staffing shortages, emergencies, and operational challenges.
- Ensure field leadership properly documents operational activity and maintains accurate company records.
Client Relations
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with clients.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for operational concerns within assigned accounts.
- Conducts client meetings and site visits to ensure contractual compliance and service excellence.
- Identifies opportunities to improve client satisfaction and operational performance.
- Assists executive leadership with contract implementation and operational planning for new accounts.
Policy Development & Compliance
- Assists in developing and implementing company policies, post orders, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational guidelines.
- Ensures assigned personnel comply with all company policies, client requirements, licensing regulations, and applicable laws.
- Conducts quality assurance inspections and field audits.
- Investigates employee misconduct, operational deficiencies, and client complaints, making recommendations for corrective action.
- Oversees implementation of operational initiatives directed by executive leadership.
Training & Development
- Oversee the development and training of supervisory personnel and newly assigned security guards.
- Evaluates training effectiveness and recommends improvements.
- Ensure supervisors are properly equipped to lead their assigned teams.
- Promotes a culture of professionalism, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Make independent recommendations regarding staffing models, operational improvements, labor allocation, and workflow efficiency.
- Participates in management meetings regarding operational planning and company objectives.
- Assists with implementation of strategic initiatives designed to improve company performance.
- Supports business growth through operational planning and leadership development.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred)
- Minimum three years of security management or supervisory experience
- Minimum two years armed security experience
- Strong leadership and employee development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Working knowledge of SIRA or comparable workforce management software preferred

Schedule Requirements
The Field Manager is expected to maintain a flexible work schedule based upon operational demands. The position may require evenings, weekends, holidays, and availability during significant operational emergencies. Work hours will vary based upon business necessities and management responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit and walk for long periods of time, which may involve climbing stairs, uneven terrain, and unfavorable weather conditions.
- Ability to maneuver around job sites, which may include but not limited to, crowded or narrow walkways, poorly lit or loud environments.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, jump, kneel, crouch, and run.
- Ability to clearly observe and hear events and interactions and respond with appropriate level of force when required.
- Ability to utilize rapid and effective judgment when responding to unusual or emergency situations.
- Ability to work in environments that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition.
- Ability to handle the use of protective gear and devices while maintaining awareness of personal safety and the safety of others properly and effectively.

Other Requirements
This position exercises independent judgment and discretion in managing field operations and supervising employees. The Field Manager is expected to devote the time necessary to effectively perform the managerial responsibilities of the position and achieve departmental objectives. The position is evaluated based upon operational results, leadership effectiveness, employee development, client satisfaction, and overall departmental performance.
Pay: $62,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year
