About GnG Vacation
At GnG Vacation, we believe a property should do more than stay occupied—it should be operated with intention.
We help property owners choose the right rental strategy across short-term, mid-term, and long-term stays, then connect the work behind pricing, listings, guest and tenant experience, cleaning, maintenance, and reporting into one disciplined operating system. Our goal is to give owners greater clarity and control while creating better experiences for the people who stay in the homes we manage.
Marketing is an important part of that mission. The right insight can connect an owner with a better strategy, help a property reach the right audience, and turn scattered activity into measurable growth. We are looking for a curious, analytical intern who wants to learn how data shapes decisions at the intersection of real estate, hospitality, and technology.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on marketing analytics internship, not a passive shadowing role. You will work across marketing, business development, and operations to understand audiences, measure campaign performance, study markets, and translate data into clear recommendations.
You will have the opportunity to investigate real questions: Which channels generate qualified property-owner leads? Which messages and markets create the strongest response? Where does the customer journey lose momentum? How can marketing insights help a property perform better?
What You Will Do
- Collect, clean, organize, and validate data from available marketing, website, campaign, CRM, social media, email, and property-performance sources.
- Build and maintain clear dashboards and scorecards that track metrics such as website traffic, engagement, lead sources, qualified leads, conversion rates, booked consultations, campaign performance, and customer acquisition efficiency when data is available.
- Help establish consistent campaign tracking, including UTM conventions, lead-source definitions, naming standards, and data-quality checks.
- Analyze the full marketing funnel to identify trends, drop-off points, high-performing audiences, and opportunities to improve conversion.
- Conduct market, customer, and competitor research across real estate, property management, vacation rentals, and hospitality.
- Study differences by market, property type, owner profile, guest segment, and rental strategy to help the team refine positioning and outreach.
- Evaluate the performance of local market pages, search content, email campaigns, social content, paid campaigns, and other marketing initiatives.
- Support A/B-test planning and analysis for headlines, landing pages, forms, email messages, advertisements, and creative concepts.
- Connect marketing signals with relevant hospitality and property metrics—such as occupancy, average daily rate, booking lead time, channel mix, and revenue—when appropriate.
- Turn analysis into concise written insights, presentations, and recommendations that non-technical team members can use.
- Document data sources, metric definitions, assumptions, and methods so that reporting is reliable and repeatable.
- Contribute to special projects that improve how GnG Vacation understands markets, communicates its value, and grows responsibly.
What You Will Learn
- How marketing, sales, revenue strategy, and property operations connect in a real operating business.
- How to define and measure a customer acquisition funnel from first interaction through qualified opportunity.
- How real estate and hospitality teams use metrics to make decisions across different markets and rental models.
- How to build dashboards, design useful reports, and communicate the story behind the numbers.
- How to evaluate marketing experiments and turn findings into practical next steps.
- How to work with imperfect real-world data while maintaining accuracy, transparency, and sound judgment.
- How to present analytical recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in marketing, business analytics, hospitality, real estate, economics, statistics, communications, or a related field—or equivalent project experience.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and learning new analytical tools. Experience with pivot tables, lookups, formulas, charts, or data cleaning in Excel or Google Sheets is especially helpful.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the discipline to verify data before drawing conclusions.
- Ability to explain findings clearly in writing and conversation, including to people who do not work in analytics.
- Genuine curiosity about consumer behavior, digital marketing, real estate, travel, or hospitality.
- Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple assignments.
- Willingness to ask thoughtful questions, receive feedback, and take ownership of work.
- Sound judgment when handling business and customer information.
Helpful, but Not Required
- Exposure to Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, advertising or social-platform analytics, a CRM, or email-marketing analytics.
- Experience with Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, or another data-analysis or visualization tool.
- Familiarity with SEO, paid media, market research, experimentation, attribution, or customer segmentation.
- Experience with a class project, internship, student organization, portfolio, or personal project that required turning data into a recommendation.
- Interest in short-term rentals, multifamily housing, property management, real estate investing, or hospitality revenue strategy.
- Additional language skills are welcome but not required.
You do not need to arrive knowing every tool or every real estate metric. We care about analytical curiosity, honest thinking, attention to detail, and your ability to learn.
What Success Looks Like
- Your reports are accurate, understandable, and built on clearly defined metrics.
- You identify useful patterns rather than simply repeating numbers.
- Your analysis leads to a test, decision, or concrete next step.
- You communicate assumptions and limitations openly.
- You complete at least one end-to-end analytical project that demonstrates a business question, method, findings, and recommendation.
Internship Structure and Compensation
Compensation: $19–$22 per hour. This is a paid, non-exempt position from the first hour worked, and the final rate will not be below the applicable minimum wage.
This internship is structured as a paid learning assignment lasting up to 90 days. It is designed to provide supervised, practical experience through defined projects, feedback, and exposure to real marketing and business questions. Completion of the internship does not guarantee an extension, continued employment, or conversion to another position.
Either the intern or GnG Vacation may end the employment relationship at any time, subject to applicable law. GnG Vacation will not make an employment decision—including ending the internship—because of unlawful discrimination, retaliation, or any other reason prohibited by law.
