Position Summary
Bells Little Learners is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Child Care Assistant to join our team. This full-time position works with either our Infant Classroom (6 weeks–18 months) or Toddler Classroom, providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about supporting young children's early development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and supervision for infants or toddlers throughout the day.
- Assist with implementing age-appropriate learning activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Support daily routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting (for toddlers), handwashing, naps, and transitions.
- Maintain accurate records of feedings, diaper changes, naps, and daily activities as required.
- Foster positive relationships with children by encouraging exploration, communication, and independence.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom by following health and safety guidelines.
- Help prepare and clean up classroom materials, meals, and activities.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding children's daily care and progress.
- Follow all state licensing regulations and Bells Little Learners policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with lead teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working in a classroom with infants, toddlers, or young children
- Ability to provide nurturing, responsive, and attentive care in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Must pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
