Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious CDL Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed commercial truck to transport freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in handling different trailer types, adherence to federal and state regulations, and commitment to delivering excellent service will ensure smooth operations and satisfied clients. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment.
- Follow planned routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, maintaining compliance with DOT standards.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit, utilizing appropriate tie-downs and safety protocols.
- Document delivery logs, mileage records, inspection reports, and other required paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, delivery statuses, or safety concerns while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on route driving and freight delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently.
- Prior experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment such as dump trucks and roll-off trucks is preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures and load & unload operations.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning software for optimized deliveries.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, vehicle maintenance, hazardous materials transportation, and safety standards.
- Valid CDL license with endorsements relevant to the specific vehicle types operated; clean driving record required.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
