Terminal Manager (3+ yrs intermodal dispatching exp. req.) Description
Our client in the transportation industry is looking for a Terminal Manager to add to their team in Louisville, KY. You will lead daily intermodal terminal operations, improve service levels, support driver retention, and help grow truck count in a busy regional market. This role is ideal for someone with intermodal dispatching and operations experience in an owner-operator environment who understands how to maximize driver hours and equipment use. To be successful, you must be hands-on, high-energy, positive, and able to bring a fresh approach to the business. This is a great opportunity to lead a local terminal with autonomy and performance-based incentives.
Terminal Manager (3+ yrs intermodal dispatching exp. req.) Responsibilities
- Run daily terminal operations for a regional intermodal location
- Plan dispatch boards to maximize driver hours and equipment use
- Track loads, update TMS, and communicate changes before issues escalate
- Reduce storage, demurrage, per diem, and other avoidable costs
- Support driver retention through clear dispatch and problem solving
- Vet owner-operators, support onboarding, and ask drivers for referrals
- Spot freight opportunities and share leads with the sales team
- Maintain DOT/FMCSA compliance, logs, inspections, and safety standards
- Lead local team with urgency, structure, and steady communication

- 3+ years of intermodal/container freight dispatching and operations experience required
- 3+ years of owner-operator environment experience required
- Understanding of market rates and freight pricing required
- TMS software experience required
