In this role, you will join a highly collaborative Women’s Services team within a nationally recognized academic medical center. You will care for a diverse patient population, applying evidence-based practice and advanced clinical skills in a supportive, innovation-driven environment.
The Role
As a Labor and Delivery RN, you will practice in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment where adaptability, clinical judgment, and teamwork are essential. You will partner closely with obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for mothers and newborns.
What you can expect in your day-to-day practice:
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period
Perform continuous maternal and fetal assessments, recognizing and responding to changes in clinical status
Collaborate with providers and care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Support patients and families through education, emotional support, and advocacy during the childbirth experience
Participate in high-acuity cases, including emergent deliveries and complex obstetric scenarios
Utilize advanced clinical technology and evidence-based protocols to ensure optimal outcomes
Precept and mentor newer nurses while contributing to a strong team culture grounded in professionalism and shared accountability

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
