Job Description: Foundry Worker – Grinder / No-Bake Molder
Location: 1000 Foundry Dr E, Richland Center, WI 53581
Department: Foundry Operations
Reports To: Production Supervisor / No-Bake Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Foundry Worker – Grinder / No-Bake Molder is responsible for producing high-quality castings through molding, finishing, and grinding operations. This role supports production by preparing molds using the no-bake process and finishing cast products to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesNo-Bake Molding Duties
- Prepare and operate no-bake molding systems and equipment
- Mix and handle sand, resin, and catalyst materials according to specifications
- Build and assemble molds and cores
- Set patterns and ensure proper alignment and mold integrity
- Inspect molds prior to pouring to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of molding area
Grinding / Finishing Duties
- Grind, clean, and finish castings using hand tools and power grinders
- Remove excess metal, gates, risers, and surface defects
- Inspect castings for quality, defects, and tolerance compliance
- Operate finishing equipment such as grinders, saws, and air tools
- Maintain proper tooling and ensure safe operation of equipment
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE
- Maintain production pace to meet daily output goals
- Assist with material handling and movement of castings
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisor
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous foundry, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred
- Experience with grinding tools or molding processes is a plus
- Ability to read basic work instructions and production documents
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments
- Must be able to wear required PPE (respirator, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
Work Environment
- Exposure to heat, dust, fumes, and industrial noise
- Fast-paced production environment
- Safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
Schedule
- Full-time position; overtime may be required based on production needs
