Duties
- Dispense medications accurately while adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols
- Provide expert consultation on medication therapy, including IV infusions, pain management, and pediatrics
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication plans and monitor responses
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans
- Manage medication inventory, ensure proper storage, and oversee aseptic techniques for sterile preparations
- Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and safety precautions
- Participate in emergency response situations such as trauma or ICU cases by providing critical pharmacological support
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction
- Extensive hospital experience, particularly within Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers
- Proven background in hospital medicine, ICU experience, and critical care environments
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and acute care procedures
- Experience with managed care systems and pharmacy residency programs preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in patient service, patient care, and medication administration across various settings including PICU and emergency rooms
- Proficiency in IV infusion preparation, aseptic techniques, and acute pain management protocols
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and utilize physiology knowledge effectively
- Post-residency or clinical pharmacy experience focusing on pediatrics or emergency medicine is highly desirable
