A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)
You will be working with a cross functional team to deliver commodity strategies, lead sourcing projects to achieve Total cost reduction and deliver a weatherproof supply chain.
How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
- Carry out in depth cost breakdowns analysis (including cost estimation) and negotiate the lowest TCA in order to contribute to the divisional cost saving target
- Drive cost reduction and resourcing programmes to support strategy execution ensuring impact on existing supply chains are managed.
- Lead sourcing actives and negotiations for low to high value aerospace and industrial type components to optimize cost opportunities, contract coverage, and secure supply continuity.
- Undertake minor to major contractual and price negotiations with new and existing suppliers to mitigate commercial risk and optimise commercial advantage for current and future programmes.
- Ensure a close cooperation with internal customers to ensure customer care and early involvement.
- Strong and proven negotiation skills.
- Defines the sourcing strategy in the respective area of responsibility with cross-functional counterparts and support from GCMs, and in alignment with business, and provides input for ecosystem strategy
- Creates and implements business-specific initiatives and measures based on respective commodity strategy in alignment with SE Ecosystem strategy and business objectives
- Plans negotiations, defines awarding strategy and prepares sourcing board approvals, respecting the suppliers defined by the commodity strategy, to enable pooling potential
- Negotiates local, regional, or multi-site contracts in conjunction with relevant procurement managers, or independently. This includes negotiating prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms, among other specifics
- Contributes to EcoSystem commodity strategy, and develops a business listing of preferred suppliers
- Manages the relationship with assigned suppliers (in alignment with CM/GCM when applicable)
- Supports and maintains supplier segmentation of the relevant supply base via actively representing the Customer view in Commodity Circles
- Analyzes local and regional market trends and their utilization in commodity strategy
- Identifies stakeholder requirements and supports the execution process, providing input into the sourcing process.
- Monitors supplier performance and informs relevant stakeholders about this performance under the guidance of Commodity leadership
- Generates, documents and implements savings measures; monitors and reports relevant KPI
- Drives early procurement / supplier involvement and cost-out activities
- Identifies procurement risks and opportunities and implement respective measures
- Identifies potential contractual items and liaises (if relevant) with the strategic commodity management to ensure such items are added to existing contracts or appropriate contracts are established
- Works with the commodity team to establish process improvements, contributing to implementation and adherence on-site.
What You Bring (requirements)
- Ability to work in a complex, fast changing global organizational environment
- · 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing/commodity management.
- · Outstanding Excel skills.
- · Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- · Excellent commercial, contractual, and project management acumen.
- · Familiarity with component Manufacturing processes and Quality
- · Knowledge of working with a global supplier base, in a matrix environment.
- · Preferably bachelor’s degree.
