Duties
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records in compliance with health information management standards.
- Schedule patient appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff to optimize workflow.
- Process medical billing and coding using medical terminology to ensure accurate revenue cycle management and reimbursement.
- Uphold clinical confidentiality policies by safeguarding patient information in accordance with healthcare privacy protection laws.
- Assist with health regulation policy adherence by ensuring documentation meets all regulatory requirements for health information management and compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, verifying insurance details, and guiding patients through administrative procedures.
- Support revenue cycle management activities by processing claims, tracking payments, and managing records related to billing and collections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology and records management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of health regulation policies, healthcare privacy laws, and health information regulatory compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Ability to maintain strict clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive health information.
- Prior experience with medical coding, billing procedures, and revenue cycle management is highly desirable.
