Business Development Representative (CPG Partnerships)
Fully Remote (US) · Full-time · Travel: Approximately 25%
About Kaylus:
Kaylus is building the next generation of shopper rebates and family saving platform. We connect consumer brands directly with the people who buy their products, helping brands drive measurable sales while rewarding shoppers for purchasing the products they already love, all while helping families save money for what really matters - their family and life.
We are currently preparing for our Q3 2027 commercial launch. That means we are building our go-to-market organization now. The people who join today won't inherit an established sales process, they will help build it.
Kaylus is an ambitious team that moves quickly, values ownership, and believes great ideas can come from anyone. Everyone contributes beyond their job title, and we value people who ask questions, learn continuously, and take responsibility for outcomes.
The Opportunity:
We're hiring two Business Development Representatives to support our Revenue Officer as we expand relationships with Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brands. Successful candidates will focus on one of two industry verticals:
Grocery & Food or Health, Wellness & Beauty
This role is responsible for generating qualified opportunities, building relationships with prospective brand partners, supporting trade shows and industry events, and helping develop the sales playbook that will drive Kaylus' long-term growth.
Reporting directly to the Director of Partnerships, you'll work closely with senior sales leadership while developing the skills needed to eventually manage larger strategic partnerships of your own.
What You'll Do:
- Research and identify prospective CPG brands within your assigned category.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, and industry research.
- Initiate conversations through email, phone, LinkedIn, conferences, and other outreach channels.
- Qualify prospective partners and advance opportunities for senior sales leadership.
- Support partnership discussions from initial outreach through contract execution alongside Kaylus’s Chief Revenue Officer.
- Learn the Kaylus platform and communicate our value proposition clearly and confidently.
- Represent Kaylus at trade shows, conferences, customer meetings, and industry events (approximately 25% travel).
- Maintain accurate CRM records and consistently manage follow-up activities.
- Share competitive intelligence, customer feedback, and market insights with the broader team.
- Help refine and improve our sales processes as we continue to scale.
What We're Looking For:
We're less interested in years of experience than in your ability to learn quickly, work hard, and build relationships.
Successful candidates typically demonstrate:
- Strong curiosity about consumer brands and how they grow their businesses.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence initiating conversations with new people.
- Persistence and resilience when facing rejection.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Coachability and a genuine desire to improve through feedback.
- A high level of personal ownership and accountability.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where processes are still evolving.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%.
- Authorization to work full-time in the United States.
Experience in consumer packaged goods, retail, sales, marketing, advertising, shopper marketing, or adjacent industries is helpful but not required.
How Success Is Measured:
Success in this role is measured by your ability to consistently create opportunities that help grow the business, including:
- Qualified meetings generated
- Pipeline created
- New brand relationships established
- CRM accuracy and follow-up discipline
- Trade show and event execution
- Contribution to closed partnerships
