Duties
- Supervise daily operations of the pet boarding facility, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality care for all animals
- Oversee pet check-in and check-out processes, providing excellent customer service to pet owners
- Manage staff schedules, assign duties, and provide training on animal handling, safety protocols, and sanitation procedures
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and equipment in accordance with health standards
- Ensure proper animal restraint techniques are used during handling and grooming sessions
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility sanitization protocols
- Handle pet behavior concerns by implementing training or behavioral modification strategies as needed
- Coordinate outdoor activities and exercise routines to promote physical activity and mental stimulation for the dogs
- Maintain detailed records of pet care activities, health issues, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets’ needs, behaviors, and special requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience in veterinary settings or pet care facilities such as veterinary technician, veterinary assistant, kennel worker, or pet sitter roles
- Strong dog handling skills with knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques
- Experience in pet grooming, training, or animal behavior management is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when handling large or multiple animals safely
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of sanitation practices related to pet boarding facilities and animal care environment sanitization
- Outdoor work experience preferred for supervising outdoor activities and maintaining facility grounds
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Physical stamina for prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting heavy objects, and performing cleaning tasks
- Strong communication skills for effective team leadership and client interactions
