Key Qualifications:
- Current and active California mild/moderate special education teaching credential (required)
- Experience working with middle school students in a self-contained special day class (SDC), especially in English and Math
- Strong collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff
- Ability to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Effective classroom management and a nurturing, student-centered approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to middle school students across English and Math curriculum
- Develop, implement, and track progress on IEP goals for each student
- Collaborate with families, administration, and specialized staff to support student success
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to suit a variety of learning needs and styles
- Maintain accurate records, attend meetings, and comply with all state and federal requirements
