JOB SUMMARY:
Working in a fast paced, team environment, under direct supervision, performing basic and routine electrical/mechanical assembly and sub-assembly operations. Using blueprint specifications, wiring lists, written quality standards and verbal instructions to assemble, modify, rework or reassemble wiring units. Work is repetitious in nature and requires a significant amount of eye hand coordination and dexterity. Works with small hand tools and completes simple machining operations. Required to use measuring devices and apply basic math skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepares work to be accomplished by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials
- Prepares sub-components for assembly by sorting, stripping, terminating or otherwise making them ready for further processing
- Operates various hand tools and simple machining operations
- Performs various tests for compliance to quality specifications
- Rotates among different workstations as production needs require
- Positions parts and sub-assemblies by using blueprints and/or reading measurements
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed component
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Is required to meet daily Quantity and Quality standards
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Clearly understands processes for assigned parts and tasks. Is able to ensure quality on a consistent basis
- Is able to work at a station and consistently complete tasks in a proficient manner
- Basic knowledge of Park Manufacturing’s products and processes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- No prior relevant training - solid work history
- Has no discretion to vary from established work processes or procedures
- Is usually able to make quality determinations on assigned products and tasks
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and written quality standards in the English language. Must be able to learn to read and understand basic blueprint layouts. Ability to effectively communicate information in a one-on-one a small group setting.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure (US and Metric), using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to accurately use various multiple simple measuring devices.
Training Requirements - training requirements can be either developing oneself in an academic setting, on the job training or demonstration of mastery. The latter part of this suggestion of demonstrating mastery will be zero defects over time, simulating work followed by proficiency evaluation such as CARE inspections or written testing.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Work is highly repetitive, simple, short cycle assembly, following prescribed routine. Typically works on specific unskilled or simple tasks and processes. Work direction is given continuously throughout the day by set-up or lead.
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to sit. You will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch, stoop, and move from place to place. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
