Job Summary
The Plumbing Technician is responsible for ensuring the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the company’s facilities. This includes routine inspections, minor repairs, and performing necessary adjustments to maintain the building and its equipment. The technician will also handle emergency repairs, assist with preventive maintenance programs, and work closely with other team members to ensure a safe and functional work environment.
Principal Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure, including plumbing, and lighting systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining equipment for events or office needs.
- Monitor and maintain inventories of tools, supplies, and materials required for maintenance.
- Report on the status of repairs and maintenance of work orders, ensuring all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas.
- Assist with any emergency repairs or services that may arise, including after-hours on-call availability as needed.
- Stay updated on new technologies, equipment, and best practices in property maintenance to enhance service quality.
- Use property management software to track requests and work progress.
- Support the Property Manager in larger-scale projects and initiatives to improve facility infrastructure.
- Inspect properties and facilities regularly to identify areas needing repair or improvement.
· Maintain accurate records of work completed, including service logs and maintenance reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
- Knowledge of plumbing and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Experience in property management software and maintenance tracking systems preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with interdepartmental staff.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of building systems (plumbing), regulatory compliance, and residential building maintenance and alterations.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and all applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License; must be insurable.
- Background check required.
- Plumbing license and maintaining license required.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or be on-call for emergency situations.

Work Environment
- Occasional participation in physical tasks, such as overseeing snow removal or assisting with larger projects, may be required.
- Occasional work in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces.
- Frequent kneeling, bending, stooping, walking, sitting and use of hand and finger dexterity.
- Frequent use of hand and power tools.
- Frequent needs to utilize appropriate PPE.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Frequently required to talk and/or hear.
- Early morning, weekend, and holiday availability may be required as prearranged.
