The family is looking for a knowledgeable, nurturing, and professional caregiver who can confidently support their baby’s needs while helping create a calm and positive transition into parenthood.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) or Doula who truly enjoys the newborn stage and takes pride in providing thoughtful, individualized care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of newborn development, feeding, sleep support, and establishing healthy routines while respecting and partnering with the parents in their approach.
The family values someone who is warm, dependable, proactive, and confident in their expertise and can provide exceptional hands-on newborn care and reassurance during this important stage.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for the newborn while prioritizing safety, comfort, and development.
- Support healthy feeding, sleeping, and daily routines.
- Assist with newborn sleep education and age-appropriate sleep habits.
- Track feedings, diaper changes, sleep patterns, and other important newborn details.
- Support breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping routines, and bottle preparation as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and peaceful nursery environment.
- Sterilize bottles, pump parts, and newborn supplies.
- Manage baby-related laundry, organization, and daily upkeep.
- Communicate openly with parents regarding the baby's routines, development, and needs.
- Provide guidance and education while respecting the family's parenting preferences.
Requirements
- Certified Newborn Care Specialist or Doula.
- Extensive newborn experience.
- Strong knowledge of newborn development, safe sleep practices, and infant care.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Able to legally work in the US.
- Fluent in English.
- Comfortable with a dog in the home.
- Comfortable working closely with parents and providing knowledge and support.
