American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a busy academic medical center, requiring strong general surgery/robotics circulating experience.

Work in the Operating Room department of an academic teaching hospital
-
Circulate general surgery and robotics cases with exposure to many service lines
-
Patient population includes orthopedic sports, minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general, GYN, URO, and plastics
-
Neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular experience a plus
-
Very busy, high acuity environment with average daily census of 50-75 across 28 rooms
-
Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM

Call required
-
May also be required to perform charge duties

Floating within hospital required, with additional floating to other specialties during slow periods
-
No floating to sister hospitals
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Scrubs provided for OR personnel, any color permitted

Active WA or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 3-4 years of RN experience required, preferably in a larger OR setting

General surgery and robotics circulating experience required
-
Experience with many OR service lines preferred

Epic charting experience preferred

Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities include circulating cardiac and neuro cases as needed
-
First-time travelers are accepted for this role

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction

Prior staff members must have a minimum 18-month separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
-
RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment

COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Facility is a Magnet-designated academic teaching center
