Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Pediatric Care – South Sound
Ashley House NW is a respected nonprofit organization providing 24-hour, compassionate care for medically fragile children, youth, and young adults in warm, home-like settings.
Since 1989, we have specialized in long-term, short-term, transitional, and respite care for individuals with complex medical needs who might otherwise remain in hospitals or skilled nursing facilities. Our clients may have congenital conditions, rare diagnoses, or other medical complications requiring tracheostomies, ventilators, G-tubes, or J-tubes.
We are seeking compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants to work in our South Sound group homes, including locations in Tacoma (Browns Point), Kent, Auburn, Edgewood, and Olympia.

Browns Point
- Wednesday–Friday NOC (2300–0700)
Kent
Auburn
- Sunday NOC (1745–0600)
- Saturday–Sunday DAY (0545–1800)
All-House Float
- Monday, Tuesday, and Friday NOC (2300–0700)
- Saturday DAY (0545–1800)
- Saturday NOC (1745–0600)
In This Role, You Will
- Follow and implement individualized care plans
- Provide personal care, including hygiene and daily living support
- Safely transport clients to school, activities, appointments, and community outings
- Support each client’s physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual well-being
- Work closely with nurses, families, and other members of the care team

Required Qualifications
- Active Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification
- At least 21 years of age
- Current BLS, CPR, and First Aid certification
- Valid Washington State driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Compliance with required immunizations and annual TB testing
- Ability to successfully complete Washington State and FBI fingerprint background checks
Training and Onboarding Requirements
- Willingness to train at three South Sound locations, including either Edgewood or Olympia
- Availability to complete at least two training shifts per week, typically on weekdays
Preferred Skills and Mindset
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and eager to work with medically fragile children, youth, and young adults
- Interested in gaining hands-on experience with tracheostomy, ventilator, G-tube, and J-tube care
- Comfortable learning new clinical skills and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Interested in building healthcare experience, including those pursuing nursing or other clinical careers
